Yes you need a pro to replace a compressor.
Also you have to determine what is actually wrong with the system.
If it is a leak and you have lost all your freon and that is why the compressor is not working then there is no use replacing the compressor, evacuating the system and refilling it with freon until the leak is found and fixed.
Note: That this will not be cheap and often it makes more sense to replace the unit.

My Refrigerator Won't Stay Cold. I Was Told That I Need A Compressor. I Have Found A Compressor On The Internet However My Compressor Has These 3 Metal Pieces That Are Saudered. Now The Compressor I See On The Internet For My Refrigerator Has The 3 Prongs. My Question Is Do I Still Need To Have A Repair Person Come Out To Put The Compressor Together Because Of The Connecting Of Those 3 Metal Pieces That Need To Be Saudered
