Take the back off and make sure all your wires are firmly connected. Remove the wires from the element and check each terminal for ground to cabinet. As for the humming it may be the motor or bad rollers.

I replaced the heating element on the dryer. When I tried to start the dryer gave a click, the breaker tripped and the dryer cut off. After restoring the breaker I started the dryer and all it now does is hum.

Can you please suggest what may be the problem.:rolleyes:
