We have a Frigidaire side by side refrigerator/freezer, just over 10 years old. Several months ago, the flapper door that dispenses the ice stopped opening, resulting in ice clogging up in the chute between the ice maker and the door. The ice maker works and I can open the flapper door with my finger and it will shut, however it will not open on its own when ice goes down the chute. What is causing my problems? Is there a motor that opens the door that may be burned out? Any assistance would be appreciated.
