In production they may have stripped the threads, particularly if the nuts are tinnerman nuts. I would pound a chisel between the motor and frame and torq them out.

I'm trying to remove the motor/water pump assembly on my Amana washing machine. There are four screws for the mount, two on the top and 2 towards the back. I've attached an image of the overview. I'm using a 1/2inch socket to try and remove the screws.

Instead of backing out, they just spin in place. They are threaded, and I've attached two images that I tried to take of the back of the screws. I've tried jamming something behind one of the screws to push it out with some pressure. I've tried a drill with the bit, and a wrench. I also tried pulling on the motor to put pressure on the screw to force it out - with no luck. What am I missing?
