Gene, It is not trying to spin during the wash cycle. I may have not explained it well. It is turning along with the agitator during the wash cycle. It spins really fast along with the agitator during the spin cycle. Should the assembly be turning at all?

Our washer is making a lot of noise during wash and more-so in the spin cycle. I looked at the motor and transmission while it was washing. The transmission and brake assembly is spinning with the agitator. I don't think that should. I would think the shaft should spin inside the transmission. Am I correct?
