Oven control knob seemed loose. Then one day it would not stop in the off position but continued to spin all the way around. The Oven did not go off. I removed the knob, and tried to turn the metal rod to turn oven on/off. However, once on I had a hard time getting it to respond and to go off.
What should I do?

The oven cuts on but I can not tell the temp or when it is off because the knob on the oven just keeps going ound and round even when I pull the knob off and turn the metal stem.
