I have an Kitchen Aid Accolade Mixer that will operate for a short period of time (4 - 5 mins max) and then suddenly stops. Mixer is just a little over a year old and has only been used approx 10 - 12 times. Acts as though it may be overheating, but housing barely gets warm. We have to wait about 15 mins and then can power it back on to finish mixing. It doesn't happen all the time and it doesn't seem to make any difference while mixing a cold item or hot/steaming item like mashed potatoes when failure occurs. Would this problem most likely be caused by a defective motor?
