Your response to my problem was right on. Rechecked the compressor and the environs around it and determined that everything was not sitting just right. Realigned what I thought might be the problem and surenuff its not making the noise anymore. Hope the compressor holds out. Seems to be working just fine.
Thanks.

If this sound comes from the compressor, check the compressor mounting legs. It can be a sign of a dying compressor. but it can work long enough with this sound as well.

When my Kenmore top mount fridge cycles off it makes a loud sound like a bucket of wooden blocks being dumped on the floor. The fridge cools fine but the sound is loud enough to be heard in the next room.
any ideas?
