The first thing I would do is make sure the evaporator fan motor is bad by testing the motor for continuity and check if there is 120V coming to the motor. Replace the evaporator fan motor if it's bad and monitor the fridge for couple weeks to see if anything else will show up. - The part number for the evaporator fan motor is AP343002 Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag refrigerator Model MSD2957GEQGene.

about three months ago ice maker keeps overflowing into the bin. three days ago refridge is warm, It was frozen half way up in the freezer comp. unplugged, cleaned under, in and out, top to bottom, totally thawed, now empty. .restarted last nite, freezer -8 degrees. fridge 55+, something smelled like burnt motor. in process of removing ice maker etc, anticipating evap fan motor bad and not sure what else i should replace, ie circuit boards, or thermostats??
