My frig is a maytag. The part # you gave me comes up as a whirlpool. Are you sure its the same one.

Its probably the thermostat. That happens quite a bit. Here is the part no. and there is also a pretty good video on the same page.

My frig works great when it works. Suddenly it had decided to sometimes stop working. When this happens I can tap, sometime more than once, the cover of the control panel inside the frig section and everything will start working. I replaced the adaptive defrost control board thinking that this was the problem. it wasn't; after about 24 hours I noticed the same thing happening. Any ideas about what it could be? Did i get a bad replacement part? Any help and ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks
