Hello.
Edit age of unit. washer is at least 2 years old.
I purchased yesterday a Ge top load washer model gtwn4950l0ws for $60 Yesterday Of the facebook market place from a woman who assured me several times the washer had no issues. Well I learned on my first test run that was not the case. The washer began making a not great noise during the spin cycle. a banging almost if unbalanced but didnt appear to be.
So today took it apart and had a look. It would appear the tub/ tub bearing isn't seated on the shaft all the way? there is a bit of oil i see also.
EDIT: I also am seeing what i guess may have been dried oil in the bottom of the unit radiating outward.

Everything else looked ok. the belt, straps and suspension seemed ok.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
