I have been having vibration issues with my washer for quite sometime. Finally had to see what was going on when after doing a load of jeans and opening the door there was smoke and a burning rubber smell.

Researched the problem on YouTube to find out that this is a common problem with front load washers and the spider cracking. Well after watching the step by step instructions from Appliance Parts Pro video I got the highly corroded, gunk covered spider off and found holes in the assembely but not cracks. Which I assume is the problem for the vibration.

The questions I have are...

How do I determine if the Bearings are good or bad ?
Do I need to lube the bearings if they are deemed to be good ?
And with what type of lube ?
And what was the burning rubber smell ?
Theres no visible damage to any of the door seals or to the tub.
Could it have been the bearing seal I smelled ?

Thank you for the help and any suggestions
