The odds are high that it is the control board (microcomputer).
Since the clock works we know that the board is getting power, also a keypad fault should not blank out the display.
Try turning off power to the unit for 10 minutes or so to see if it will reset.

The oven is no longer operable from the control panel. The screen is blank, however the clock still works.

I fear I might have to replace the control panel. Could the problem be something else though?
