Hi, I have the same code and will look at this hose within a day or two but I'm curious if you had a small water leak at times as well? I have a little water on the floor after most washes and haven't found an obvious place it was leaking from. Hoping this repair can solve two problems in one!

Final Update:

If you have this model, here is how I solved LF - Long Fill.

1) I changed the hose from the side of the tub to the Water Level Sensor

2) The complete repair can be done from the rear - yes I did it!
a) remove all the screws on the rear panel, there are a bunch of them
b) looking in from the rear, the water level sensor is left high very close to the rear.
c) there is a hose coming from the bottom of the sensor, goes along the left side
of the tub and attached near the under of the tub.

3) All accessible from the rear. Don't be too hard on the tube.

4) Notice the thing that holds the tube when it is attached to the side of the tub.
I removed the white foam holder, I removed the wire tie.
I noticed the wire tie was making the hose chafe and split.

THERE WAS A HOLE IN MY HOSE.

So replace with a new hose.

I did not use the white foam holder, I did not wire tie it to the tub.
It will just flop around as the tub jiggles.

Machine works perfect.

So, Whirlpool, you constructed and assembled the unit so IT WILL FAIL - EVENTUALLY.

For all you owners, change it now before it's chafed with a hole.

Also, I replace the water level sensor with the original sensor - BONUS!!
It works perfectly fine.

Stupid hose and stupid assembly by Whirlpool.

If you have LF ERROR code, this hose fix is probably the 100% solution!.

Update:
I have spoken with several appliance repair technicians.

Take note that with the tub vibrating, not only will the wires possibly come apart like mine has,
but the tube from the tank will probably be bad.

You must change the sensor and the tube at the same time.

The tube is Whirlpool part: WP8540294 Washer Water Level Pressure Switch Hose
On some websites, it is on the picture called TOP AND CABINET PARTS.

LF means Long Fill. It takes too long (in time) to fill and the water is half-way up the glass.

Looking at hundreds of web pages...found very little.

Things to think about:
1) water has to be getting in the unit. Mine does get water.

My problem is water goes half-way up the glass, it it has to do with
detecting the water level.

2) I changed the water level sensor.
I still get LF

3) There is a tube from the drum to the sensor unit.
I think that if there is a hole, cut, or break in it, then LF is possible.
All the vibrating over the years could weaken the hose.

I will replace the hose from the drum to the water level sensor.
and let's see how it goes.

Does anyone know what the resolution was to this issue? We have the same error, and replaced the Flow pumps first with not results. I was going to change the main control board but than I saw this post. Seems like there's another control board on the side of the Main control too. Anyone?

I have replaced the Main Control Unit...part# W10491312,yet still have the same issues as before. LF error when running a wash cycle. Any advice on what to try next?

I would replace it, but it is an expensive part so if you buy from this site and it does not fix things you can return it. Hi All,

I own a whirlpool duet frontloading washer, model # WFW9151YW00. For the past couple of weeks, the washer will not completely drain during a full wash cycle, leaving the clothes wet, and displaying error code "LF"

I then have to run an additional spin/rinse cycle to finish the job. However, if I run the wash cycle in the small load mode everything works fine with no error code. I have checked and cleaned the filter and checked the drain hose.

Following a the diagnostic test mode by selecting 3 different buttons (except the POWER button). Keep track of which is button 1, 2 & 3. Press the buttons in order 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3 within 8 seconds after pressing the first button. The control should go into the diagnostic test mode and display the saved error codes. Press the 3rd Key to advance through the saved error codes.

The codes that were displayed were in order

F6 E1
F8 E3
F1 E1

I am hoping that someone has the protocol of what i should do next with the given error codes, or a procedure to follow so that I can figure out how to diagnose this problem and what part to purchase to fix this issue.
