Ok, I will admit it, an idiot I am. Upon closer inspection, it was the female that is connected from the t-stat, i had to do nothing, lol. What a brain fart!

That will work but I've never seen a female terminal on that heating element. Where did you get it from?

ok, so I ordered a new heating element(279838). This dryer has only 2 wires(no orange) so one wire goes to top of thermostat on element. The next wire goes on right male terminal on element. I had an extra jumper wire around that I was going to use. WRONG! The bottom male small terminal on the thermostat is fine. The left terminal on the heating element is FEMALE!! Guess all I need to do is cut the large female terminal off the jumper and put on a male spade?
