Hello,

Our GE Monogram Wine Chiller (ZDWC240) started making a pretty loud noise continuously recently.

I pulled the unit out and looked in the back panel. There's not a lot of dust back there but I used a vacuum to clean it out. The fan is clearly operating and is quiet, but the compressor seems to run continuously, and I noticed that there was a buildup of some ice on the back panel of the main compartment, so clearly the cooling function is still working.

I turned the unit off to de-ice it, plugged it back in and turned it on and it's still making the humming compressor noise, and won't seem to ever turn itself off. I have an older model with a manual thermostat control - when I turn the know through its full range there's no discernible click and the unit does not seem to respond in any way unless I go all the way to "off."

Any thoughts on this? Does it sound like a thermostat problem or something else more complicated?

thanks in advance

- Don
