ok i am home.
the top part of agitator does go clockwise.
the bottom goes back and forth... until you start adding laundry... then everything starts going counterclockwise.
does that help?
Thank you.
Steve

The top part of the agitator (auger) only goes in the clockwise direction. If the lower agitator is only going in one direction, then the transmission is bad.

So far I have put in a new Cam Agitator Repair Kit, a Direct Drive Washer Motor Coupling, and a new Clutch Assembly.
The noise is kinda like a slam then a millisecond grind at the end and then repeats as the agitator moves.
I will DOUBLE CHECK this afternoon but I think the agitator is ONLY MOVING IN ONE DIRECTION.
Hopefully this description can give you guys enough to help me figure it out.
Thanks
Steve
