A Model Number may help others help you.
Whirlpool makes a lot of different units.

This may help you find it.
Model Number Locator

It may be just the lid switch. The lid switch on some units kills both agitate and spin, on others just the spin which also is the drain.

The washer will operate properly until it gets to drain. Then the timer stops and does not proceed with the cycle. Additionally the safety switch of the door is broken and needs replacing. Please advise as to what is needed. I am thinking a new timer and of course a new safety switc.
