I am having issues with a washer that came with our home. I don't know the specific year but looking at the serial number and model number tag, I believe it's from 2000.

Either way, to date we have never had any issues with it. Earlier this week my husband started a load of wash and when it came to the spin cycle it made this horrible knocking noise. He went down and looked at it. Checked the drum, manually turned it, started the load again and it finished out fine.

Yesterday I started a load and when it came to the spin cycle the horrible knocking noise returned but now it won't even get into the spin cycle in order to spin the water out. I manually wrung the clothes out and once it was empty tried it on the spin cycle. It goes into the spin cycle when empty and the knocking noise returns. What's odd is that the drum seems to be spinning in balance. No obvious off balance impacts with the side or anything. HELP!
