I may be looking at the wrong info or perhaps it is just semantics!
"The problem is, my top left duo element randomly stopped working"
Do you mean the left front element?
The left rear which is usually also called the top left is a single element.

There is not much that you can check because it uses relays.
Yellow (H1A) should close to black (L1A).

Since the element checks out OK then odds are very high that the control is toast.
The only other possibility would be a bad connection in the wiring.

Thanks for the quick reply!

From looking at the schematics, I've previously trieed checking l2 with h2a/ h2b which has a connection for each one. I'm not sure If I was checking the correct connection though since I'm not an expert in reading those schematics.

To confirm, is the switch circuit identical to the one on the schematic with l1, l2, h1a, h2ba/b and pilot? Also, how would I check it through colour codes?

I can also take pictures if needed.

Thanks,

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool KECD807XSS00 Cooktop - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

Since the switch is not marked try using the wire color codes to check it.

Since the switch sounds different that the others I would say that it is the problem.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, hope you guys could help me out with my stovetop!

The problem is, my top left duo element randomly stopped working. I took it apart and tried to troubleshoot it myself. The element itself has no breakage or burnt marks on it and it pass a continuity test. I tried to troubleshoot the switch but was unable to since the back of it does not mark h1/h2 or l1/l2. I can provide pics if needed. I've been stuck with a proper duo element for weeks now, hope you guys can help me out.

Not sure if this helps but, turning the switch left and right turns the element light on. Also, I notice by turning the working element switches, i hear these clicking noises where I dont for the broken one.

Thanks,
Quin :)
