There should be tech notes with testing/diagnostic procedures inside the lower service panel.

You are right to focus on the control unit, but the motor control electronics can also be a problem. It is also possible the motor electronics are damaged. Try replacing each board. If you buy from this site you can return parts you don't use, including boards.

A rug was washed in the machine and fell apart the rubber particles plugged the rubber trap which I dismantled and cleaned out. After reassembling the pump worked fine remove the water from the drum but now have no agitation. There is no humming coming from the motor also tried on spin only pump works but no spinning action. In this model there is a what appears to be in control board in the lower back corner wires from the motor and a pair of wires that go up to the top of the washer connect to this control board. Suspect this to be the problem when trap was removed water came out and may have shorted this control although is enclosed in a white plastic box.
