I have the above GE gas cook stove which still works wonderfully after 20 years. The burner caps, two large ones and two small ones, all have the gray procelain chipping away. Most of the porcelain (if it is porcelain) has chipped away and it looks terrible. New ones are about $120.00 each for the large ones and about $70.00 for the small ones.

I was going to sandblast all the old porcelain off, and then spray it with some Rustoleum 2000 degree primer I found at Lowes Home Improvement. When I got home, I read in small print on the can that it was not to be used where there is flame in direct contact. I called Rustoleum and was told that yes, not to use it on the burner caps.

Does anyone have any reasonably priced solution to my problem. Thanks in advance. I haven't visited here in over a year, but I guess thats a good thing, since it most likely means that I haven't had any problems.
