How do you Raise retractable section to the up position if the power switch doesn't work to raise or lower the vent?

could be damaged, but we're comfortable knowing some of the other possibilities are eliminated. Here's some help to access the switch assembly: 1. Raise retractable section to the up position. 2. Unplug vent or disconnect power. 3. Remove the filters. 4. Pull gently upward on the control cover (trim cap, the piece with the name plate)
to disengage the 3 ball connectors from the clips in the vent filter frame. 5. The motor switch housing is tucked behind the upper right filter frame. It is held in place by one screw.
6. Remove the screw and pull the switch housing from behind the frame.
7. The switch housing is held together by two screws, one on the front and one on the back of the housing. Remove the screws to gain access to the connections and circuit board. 8. Reassemble in reverse order of these steps."

KAven, Yes, the main control board is located on the housing, next to the blower, on the right hand side. The cover on the left hand side is the power connection / junction box. If you can supply us with an e mail address, we'll be happy to send you some illustarted informaton that may help.

Thanks for the reply. Did check the fuse and it was fine, but didn't check the main control board. Is it in the small covered plate next to the blower? Thanks.

We wiped the button again, took off the cover plate and there was a bit of water there and wiped that up as well. We then plugged the power plug back in and now it won't turn on. It's dead. Any ideas on what part might be broken and is it an easy fix? Thanks! KAven, Did you recheck the fuses or breakers to see that they are properly set and supplying voltage to the vent system. Did you remove the cover plate at the bottom right corner of the main housing and check to see if the water had damaged the main control board or fuse ? And you'll need to check the filter switches they need to have an "open" circuit for the vent system to run. Under the circumstances, there's not a lot of "difficult" work involved. other than accessing and removing the panels inside the cabinet, under the counter top.

Hi. New to forum and would greatly appreciate any help anyone can provide!
