Probably low on refrigerant or a bad compressor, pull the back freezer panel and check the frost pattern, partial frost= system problems for a pro. to look at.

What is the life of a thermostat? I think it may be bad the freezer only goes to the temp of 17degrees on the max cooling. No cold enough to freeze water. The coils are all clean and the interior coils are not frozen up. Do you think it could be the thermostat?
