My kitchenaid icemaker is not working. Model number is KSRP25FNSS00. The water dispenser is working. I cannot tell if the water inlet valve is operating properly. Should there be water dripping from the water tube above the icemaker into the icemaker when the icemaker is on and the flapper door closed? There wasn't any when I watched it. When the icemaker is on and the flapper door closed, the LED light stays lit continuosly When I pulled the automatic icemaker out, there was a small plastic piece broken off from the center of the white gear (a retainer?) on the motor assembly. Maybe the gear was inoperable having only about half the retainer there? Nothing seemed loose on the gear.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
