MY Maytag washer quit running while a load was agitating at the beginning of the first cycle, my wife didn't notice this until she smelled smoke. She turned the unit off immediately but it may have been too late to save the motor. There was enough to smoke up the house. I found a defective lid switch and replaced it (the fuse was blown and one of the switches had come apart) now the motor is getting power but it isnt turning, I checked the motor start switch and the contact points are burned and worn. is this most likely the motor start switch or the start switch and motor? the motor is not locked up and the transmission seems to be working. any help is appreciated thanks
