The F3 code means that the sensor circuit is opening
up. Now the sensor could be a dud however the first
thing I would want to look at are all sensor connections
including where it connects at the Electronic (or ERC)
control. In the past Ive had a good share of trouble with the
plug that the sensor itself plugs into wire harness. The best way to
handle this is to cut the plug from both the sensor and
the range harness and connect the wires directly together with
high temperature ceramic wire nuts. Next inspect the sensor wiring
and make sure that the plug at the ERC control is making good
connection. If the sensor, the wiring and "all" of the connections
are up to snuff then chances are there is a problem with the ERC
control itself.

Hi, my GE Profile electric convection oven has 2 bake modes. One is the convection and the other is the regular bake option. I had a new temperature sensor put in by sears technician because the oven was not working completley. Now, I get the F3 code when I use the convection oven option but the reguale bake option works fine. However, I was not able to duplicate this issue when the technician came home and I think it was because he turned the power on and off and everything worked fine. The very next day the convection bake would not work. It does not reach the temperature the display says and then the F3 code appears. I then used the regular bake option and it worked fine. This is when I realized that it was only the convection bake that is not working and I only use that option!
What is the service technician missing? He is coming in again on october 3 rd.
Thanks,

Kamala
