As I was about to remove the control panel from the range I noticed that the wire leads on the right side of the panel, I assume they go to the temp sensor in the oven, the wires were pinched against the frame and nicked the wire so it grounded out, after I repositioned the wires and taped over the damaged area the oven now works.

Maytag gas oven not working, display is on, but oven never cycles on, display will go out of bake mode just after temp is set. Does the control panel need to be replaced or is there something else I should be testing? The display goes out of bake mode, so the Ignitor never gets a chance to get hot. Can the control panel be repaired?
