Sorry for the delay.

Unfortunately there are no any reliable instrumental tests for the membrane switch.

We replaced the control board 2 yeads ago. How can we test to make sure the membrane switch is good?

If you are sure that the new membrane switch is good then the problem is a bad control board (aka timer).

Range had error msg 'F1' and called sears repairman. He troubleshot to membrane switch that was discontinued. I found switch online and replaced but now the clock just blinks and the touchpad does not respond when touched, no corresponding 'beep' and i cannot access the oven controls. The cooktop elements and fan work fine. I checked the ribbon and it is plugged firmly into the control board, what else should I be looking for?
