I have a Maytag Neptune washer model MAH5500BWW. Last night we return from vacation and do the first load of dirty laundry and a loud noise starts whining during the spin cycle when it gets up to full speed. I took the back off and listened and it sounds like it's coming from inside the outer drum. I took the belt off and let it run the spin cycle to make sure it wasn't the motor, and no noise. So it's definitely in the drum. Also, the drum sprins freely now, compared to it used to be resistence. I tried to take it apart and remove the inner drum from the outer drum, but can't figure it out.

I'm thinking bearings, but maybe transmission since it spins freely. I would think with these symptoms you guys could steer me in the right direction.
