Could this be a belt? I doubt it More likely it is the rear drum support bearing. May need cleaning and re-greasing using a high temp grease. May also need replacing if it is worn. Note the ball bearing (Item 5 in the Cabinet/drum section) likes to take off and hide so be careful when removing it's retainer. Other possibilities are the belt's idler wheel, the front glides or the motor itself.

Dryer makes high-pitched squeak at start of tumble then stops. Makes noise sometimes during tumble, and always just before dryer is about to stop. Could this be a belt? Dryer was given to me and I don't have a manual for it.
