Hi,

Sounds like a faulty motor. I would check to make sure something was not caught in the blower wheel before I replaced the motor.

I have a 6 cf maytag from 1996. When I push the start button it will start but make a laboring sound then stop if I hold the button for a few seconds it will mostly stay running but will stop maybe in 30 sec or 4 minutes. If it has a load in it thats heavy it may not want to stay running, or it may run 20 min. heat is great. the drive belt is snug and the drum will turn buy hand fairly like it always has. any help appreciated. ( replaced start button with n/c.)
