Check the start device on the side of the compressor. Pry it off, if it rattles when shaked, it's bad, order it here AP3962960. You can confirm failure if you have a meter.

Sounds like a bad compressor and you may have a possible restriction that is why your freezer may be thawing out, however make sure to check out your defrost timer to make sure it is working properly.

Hello, wondering if you can help. Last night I started getting a Loud buzzing sound from compressor assembly. Can't tell if it's compressor or start relay assembly. 7 year old Kenmore Side-By-Side. Today Freezer started thawing.
