Hi.
You can not calibrate the oven based on the thermostat you are using. Try this test: set the oven for 350F and when it'll rich the temperature turn it off. Open the door for a few minutes and restart the oven set for 350F. What temp. will it display and will it stop at 350F?
Thank you.
Simon.
PS. The temperature sensor resistance at room temp. should be approx. 1100ohm.

Hi, I used a tent shaped metal oven thermometer. All of my readings were from the thermometer and the display on the range read 350. What kind of resistance should the temp probe have at room temp? Thanks, JJ

Thank you.

I am having no error messages. I set the oven at 350, using a thermometer I saw the temp at 400. I then tried to hit the off button and it went back to 350. Still could not turn off. Had to trip breaker. After oven cooled I turned it on and was able to turn it off without it going to full set temp. Are Sears parts tha tunreliable? jjjjj

Hi.
It sounds like the clock you just replaced is bad.
Can you stop the oven by pressing the stop/cancel button?
Does the clock displaying the "run away" temperature?
Check if all the connections are correct, check the resistance of the temperature probe.
Thank you. Post the results.
Simon.

Just replaced the clock/timer control #316418750 as oven would not heat up. Set oven at 350 and it went to 400 and would not shut off without tripping the breaker. Any help would be appreciated. Used great care during installation.
