All you want is that the door switch (Item 2 in Section 8) is activated when the door is closed.

I would check that the door seals correctly, if it sucks in room air it can cause the unit to run hot.

Bruce: Replaced heating element with part 61927 and it worked fine. Then I tried to reverse the door and found it could not be reversed. The door latch broke but I can hold it closed and dryer starts. The door used to open 1/2 way and now it opens all the way,so I must have installed it wrong,would that stop it from heating
