A general question: I recently moved into a 25 year old two story home with zoned central air up and down. My central air units operate, however the velocity of air exiting the registers is extremely low. Consequently, the rooms fail to cool fully. I have owned previous homes where the cold air intensity was measurably higher.

Is there any way to increase the squirrel cage fan speed to move more air across the coils and into the rooms?
