Hi, this model# 11082980120, serial# CA0149740 Kenmore Heavy Duty washer does not have a notch for a clip. It looks like when it's assembled that the pressure washer mounted on the clutch assembly holds the break cam in place. There is a plastic collar that goes on the basket drive shaft then a steel piece with two notches that slides over the plastic collar and then the break cam seats into that metal piece. The break cam is flush with bottom of drive shaft. There is no notch or even room for anything to hold it in place as it is flush. The only thing that holds it in place is the pressure washer once you slide the clutch assembly in place. Please adivse. thanks

Hi.

The missing clip is the problem. Check if there is the groove on the basket drive's shaft. You may need to replace the basket drive assembly Part number: 285792
Part number: 285792

Good luck. Post the results.

Simon.

I have a kenmore model # 11082980120. The washer fills, agitates and drains all good. When it gets to spin cycle it starts to spin but then stops and makes clicking noises. It will begin to spin again with some help by manually turning drum but will repeat same problem especially under heavy load. I replaced the clutch witch did not help. When I replaced clutch the break cam driver did not have a retaining clip holding it onto the cam. Is this normal for this model? Otherwise lid switch is fine and working. No oil is leaking from gear housing.
