Thank you so much for your help, As I had stated in my initial post for help, We have been slow on work for a long time and have very little money. We live in the wilderness and it is very difficult to even get someone to come out and diagnose a problem. We found one company that would send someone out for a travel charge of $125.00 plus parts and repairs and an additional trip charge to come back and install any parts that needed to be ordered. Our post was answered very quickly by Dedman and we wrote back and forth several times to diagnose the problem. We ordered the part and fixed the fridge for about $80.00. Thank you so much for this service. It has been a life saver for us Paul LaBrosse

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for Frigidaire GLHS268ZDS7 Frigidaire/refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a wiring diagram

The start device is Item 30 in Section 9.

The second link I gave in my earlier post has info on how to check it.
I would check the compressor first.
If does not have continuity then you know that it is toast.

I cannot find any info on the given model number, please check it.

Tried AppliancePartsPros, Frigidaire and Sears with no luck.

Could be the thermostat is not telling the compressor to come on.
Could be the compressor's start device is no good.
Could be the compressor is shot.

If the unit has a condenser/compressor fan, is it on? On most units but not all the condenser fan is wired in parallel with the compressor so whenever it is on the compressor should be on. In other words the thermostat is OK as it is sending power to the compressor and it's fan so the problem is with the compressor or it's start device.

Here are a couple good sites with basic fridge repair info.

Fridge was working fine. Saturday morning found ice melting Fridge running continuously.Vacuumed under, from back removed cover cleaned coils, and from front removed toe kick. Checked on auto defrost by rapidly pushing light switch 5 times fan cut off pressed again turned back on. I hear no sounds coming from the compressor. What do I do next, I have had little work for quite some time and I live in the wilderness. It is very difficult to get anyone to come out. We had a 5 year extended warranty that ran out last year. Under warranty they replaced the compressor about 3 years ago. I appreciate your help. Paul Labrosse sandfly24@ yahoo.com
