Hi again Friends,

GERC4120PB0 (Canada)

I am still having oven light issues. :(

I put the range into diagnostic mode and got 10 10 on the clock... no other error codes (with the oven door closed).

According to the Tech Sheet that came with the range, the 2nd digit from the left should go to 1 when the oven door is open.

Instead, the 1st digit changed from 1 to 0.

So, 10 10 with oven door closed, and 00 10 with door open.

Does the oven door switch have a polarity? When I actuate it, I do hear a relay clicking behind the stove, but no oven light. New tested bulb and socket installed.

Thanks, and I really appreciate your help!

Yes Carl. It is possible but I have no clue which relay is bad and where to find replacement one. Might be they are marked on the control board.

Thanks, Gene.

I will try that test tomorrow, but is it possible that it just may be a relay that can be replaced (on my present board) with regard to the replacement part you recommended?

I have read that this is a possibility.

I may have to go without an oven light, as it is getting less expensive just to buy a new unit.

It is a nice range and I would prefer to explore all options, rather than let it go. An oven light is important to me.

Thanks again for your great assistance.

Carl

Carl,

If you are able to turn the oven light On & Off by using the pads on the keypad then the light switch on the door frame is the culprit. Otherwise the Power control board (#10 at the diagram) has to be replaced.

Hi Gene,

Sorry, the model number should have read GERC4120PB0. It is a Whirlpool range purchased from Sears Canada.

The rest of the oven works properly.

Hi Carl,

The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it please.

Does the rest of the oven work properly?

Gene.

Hello Folks.

This is my first post.

I installed a new light socket assembly, as while I was replacing the bulb on the old one, the bulb separated from its base.

While trying get it out, I damaged the socket, thus, the new part correctly installed.

With a new socket and bulb, it still does not work.

I put the range into diagnostic mode and got 10 10 on the clock... no other error codes.

According to the Tech Sheet that came with the range, the 2nd digit from the left should go to 1 when the oven door is open.

Instead, the 1st digit changed from 1 to 0.

So 10 10 with oven door closed and 00 10 with door open.

Do I need a new switch?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts! :)

Thanks,

Carl Warren
