Sounds like that o ring may have been chewed up.

It is almost impossible for a Forum like this to diagnose a noise because we are not there to listen to it. On these machines I generally replace all the part in the entire rear bearing assembly and the idler pulley.

It is good maintenance, even if it does not completely solve your problem.

I have replaced the following parts and I still have a screeching sound when dryer operates:

1 of AP2621911 (WE1M462) - Sleeve drum
1 of AP4324040 (WE12M29) - Dryer drive belt
2 of AP631382 (WE1M481) - Slide, Drum
2 of AP2041815 (WE1M333) - Dryer drum slide
1 of AP3794707 (WE4M305) - Lamp
1 of AP3790641 (WE3M26) - Front drum bearing

I noticed that there is no sign of the O-ring that is listed as part number 3127 - O-ring

Part Number: AP2621539
made by GE

Could this be the problem or do you think it may be the complete bearing? There is no sign of wear or wobbling on the shaft. Only the sleeve was slightly chewed up.

Your thoughts....?
