No, I do not think so. If the high limit thermostat is bad, the igniter would not glow.

Most likely the problem is a bad gas valve coils (#7 & #8 on the diagram).

My maytag LSG7804AAE gas dryer does not heat up all the time. It only works after a break of a few hours between loads.
The glow ignitor works fine but the gas dosen't come in, instead you hear a clicking noise and after a few seconds the ignitor turns off.
Any idea?
