My gas dryer stopped working while in use. Prior to this, it had been running on a high heat setting for approximately 4 hours. I tried to turn it on and it would not start and omitted a burning smell.

This happened once before and I cleaned out the duct, let it cool overnight and it re-started. Since then, I have religiously cleaned the dryer duct once a month.

I tried to turn it on several times since then, but it starts making a humming sound and then goes silent. It smells like something on the control panel is burnt.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe
