GENE, i ORDERED THE PARTS, THEY SHOULD BE DELIVERED TOMORROW. The cust. serv. person said the Maytag center seal grease was in stock, so I ordered it, but it was back ordered after all. The "OTHER" Center seal grease you recommended was actually silicon sealant in the picture. I s the Maytag center seal grease actually a grease ( AN ACTUAL GREASY SUBSTANCE THAT DOESN'T DRY) or is it silicon sealant ( which does dry to be a rubbery type sealant, the kind I probably already have)? Thank you again for your help, you are a lifesaver!

Gene, Thank you so much for the reply and the info! MUCH appreciated. One other question, in looking through the instructions, Maytag center seal grease is mentioned to be used in a couple of different applications. Where do I get it????? Thanks

According to the manufacturer instructions in case of water leak both of these parts have to be replaced. Also a spanner wrench is needed to complete repairs. The mounting stem kit comes with the installation instructions and the Service manual might help as well. - The mounting stem kit Part number: AP4390013

My Wash Machine Leaks From Under Tub At Center. I Am Told The Mounting Stem (kit) And Tub Bearing (kit) Both Need To Be Replaced. Is It Necessary To Replace Both When Replacing One? Or Is It Just Saving A Headache Down The Road To Replace Both At The Same Time? Is This Repair Complicated Enough To Pay Repairman $300.00 To Do, Or Can It Be Done By My Mechanically Inclined Husband?
