My central air compressor unit is dimming the house lights when it starts. I'm not sure just how old it is. I got it with a used MH. It is a 4 ton. Should I replace the run cap? Don't have a capacitor checker. Can use an ohmmeter, but is that reliable? Or try a HS kit? I've heard these kits can damage an old compressor. If I need to replace he outside unit, will any brand of 4 ton unit work?
Thanks
