Roger,

Post a Poll allows you to create polls (in case you wanted to ask everyone's opinion on something). Trackbacks are a way to link back to the original page. For example, if another site links to a page on this forum, that page will show a trackback to that site. This is something that came included with the forum engine we're using. I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi Roger,

Most likely the problem is a bad pump bearing. Tilt the washer back, remove the belt and rotate the pump pulley in both directions to see how freely it's moving.

My Maytag top load washer (MAV6000AWW) makes a screeching sound in the agitate and spin cycle modes. I am told this may be either a spinner bearing or a water pump. If I momentarily start the spin cycle then grab the spinning basket, the noise goes away.

Can you help me to:
1. Isolate problem
2. Parts/kit needed to repair?
2. Applicable repair manual download?

Thank you. Roger

PS: also what are "Post a Poll" and "Trackback" in the Question Options?
