Quote:It will not ignite, and there isn't any gas coming from the burner. What is the ignitor doing at that time? You can read about how common gas oven ignition systems work and the observations and tests necessary to start diagnosing problems with them at the following link: LINK > Understanding Gas Oven Ignition SystemsQuote:I've replaced the thermostat, and the oven safety valve, but this has not fixed the problem. There isn't much else in such an ignition system besides the ignitor and the wiring. As long as it is glowing (indicating it is at least getting power - but NOT necessarily that is is "good"), the ignitor is usually ~70-80% chance of being the troublemaker in such an ignition system. Hi
I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a GE gas oven model number JGBS17PEK1WWthat has stopped working. It will not ignite, and there isn't any gas comeing from the burner. just before it stopped working we were having trouble with the tempature always getting up to the setting we had it on. I've replaced the thermostat, and the oven safety valve, but this has not fixed the problem. Anyone have any advice or help?
