Check that the drain hose is looped up at least 10 inches higher than where it enters the house plumbing. This should eliminate any chance that it is siphoning back into the machine.

Check that the wash/drain flapper valve/solenoid is working correctly.
Also some of the flapper valves have a hole in the center. This should be plugged with a black seal.

That is about all I can think of other than rechecking the pump impeller and drain to be sure that it is clear.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for GE GSD4000J00WW | AppliancePartsPros.com

If the drain and sump is clear of debris, check the Piston and Nut (Item 564 in the "Body parts" section.
It unscrews from the unit.
Is a very common problem with GE's.

This dishwasher works fine through the wash cycle and drains ALL the water as I have checked it after the wash cycle is complete. The problem only occurs after the rinse cycle. When the dishwasher runs from start to finish on any wash cycle there is always approximately 1'' of water left in the bottom and the dishes do not seem to be as clean as they use to be. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
