Sorry but I do not want to subscribe to Windows Live. Not a big fan of Microsoft and their bloated software. Do not even use Internet Explorer, I am on Firefox. If I wasn't too lazy to learn a new operating system, I would be on a Mac
But odds are high that it is the rear support rollers.

Thanks for the response! I had taken a video last night, so I'll post it here anyways: VIDEO_030.avi - Windows LiveHopefully that helps in pinpointing the cause. Thanks!

Here are your parts Replacement parts for MAYTAG MDE508DAYW | AppliancePartsPros.comClunking is usually the rear support rollers, Item 17 in the "Tumbler" section. Also check their shafts for wear. It is recommended that both be replaced. You will need a pair of Cir (sir) Clip pliers to remove the retaining rings. While you have it open you may as well check the belt, idler roller, front glides, drum seals, etc. for wear and replace as necessary. Give the interior a good cleaning, including the blower wheel. Also a good idea to clean and check your vent system.

The dryer is making a loud clanking noise when turned on, it seems with every revolution of the drum. There is warm air blowing out the back vent, so heat and blower seem fine right now. What should I be checking?
Thanks!
