This stove was inherited. It received very little use in its previous life as well as in its life with me. In its previous life, several times the oven igniter was determined not working and replaced. I've had the stove about nine years now and a year ago last fall I decided to use it and sure enough the igniter didn't work. No Glow - no matter how long I waited nor how many times I tried it. I even tried unplugging and replugging the stove several times, all to no avail. Finally I removed the igniter and took it to a local appliance retailer/repair. They tested it and said it was working fine. I reinstalled it and it worked fine for a couple times. The next time I tried it, nothing. I reached in and wiggled and tapped it with a screwdriver handle and it worked. The next time I tried to use the oven, nothing. Again I wiggled and tapped it, nothing. I took it out, then put it right back, it worked - once. Now it is not working again. This time when I reached in to tap and wiggle it, from the tingle I received in my fingers, it seems quite apparent power is getting to the ingiter. I could simply replace the igniter as has been done many times in the past, albiet several years ago now, but experience suggests the igniter may not be bad. Any ideas of why the igniter is working intermittently and any suggestions of tests or corrective actions to try would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, K.
