That could be caused by a defective ignitor or oven gas valve. And yes, an ignitor can glow and still be defective.

The only way to tell for sure which is responsible is to measure the amperage draw of the ignitor circuit. With the ignitor used on your model that amperage draw should be 3.2 to 3.6 amps. If more or less, the ignitor would be defective. If it was drawing within those tolerances the oven valve would be assumed to be the problem instead. There is no other voltage or resistance test that will determine the cause of such a symptom.

The oven ignitor on such a system is the most common (70-80%) troublemaker. :rolleyes:

all top gas burners work nomally, but oven will no light. heat igniter is red hot but flame will not come on.:confused:
